I've found Solas to be very useful as well.Also more mana regen for the hpallys, the best tank healers in tbc. (boomkins provide 5% crit to their group and 3% hit to all physical dpsers).Hunters are overpowered in tbc hence why they have their own dedicated group, they will carry DPS especially during swp, feral druid critt buff is much more beneficial for hunters rather than melee as it's quite simple, hunters will make greater use of it compared to melee.Mage group has spriest to assist with mana regen since mages do suffer from this in tbc. The 5th spot would be either a boomkin or prot pally depending on the fight. Sham in warlock group will always be elemental. The only fight in tbc which you will use 8 healers is Twins, other than that I cant think of where you would use this.Dedicatd Warlock group will have 3 warlocks to provide 1 curse of element, 1 curse of recklessness and 1 curse of doom or curse of tongue if required.Resto sham for g5 totems + extra raid lust.Unfortunately whilst rogues do some very nice damage, they provide no buffs/utility apart from their cc which other classes can bring.Ofc some people will have their ideal setup, so you do not have to agree with me, this is just an ideal setup considering all raid encounters.Depends on the content and the boss your fighting. 2 rdudus who are brilliant in keeping hots on tanks and can also do raid healing at the same time. And ofc the enhacnce who will be required to totem twist to ensure both windfury and agi totem have 100% uptime.Healing group has 2 holy priests ( CoH priests) for the incredible raid healing they provide. Ret pally to provide raid with 3% crit buff and 2% physical damage increase for their own group. The big balls fury DPS who will also be essential on muru for the humanoid damage. Don't underestimate mages, they can also push out some crazy damage and provide real nice utility in the form of spellsteal allowing them to either increase their damage or tank certain encounters and ofc their cc's.The melee group has an arms providing 4% damage to physical dpsers.
The only thing slightly out of order here is the restoration druid because his aura isn't used efficiently, but it's not a big deal anyway.This setup runs with 6 healers, which is just enough, but you can adapt based on your needs and raid performance. For everything else, especially if you want to run a successful progression, this is the optimal raid setup until sunwell, where you might need like 1 more rogue/warrior:G1 (feral group): - 5% physical crit aura and hunters are the best at using that.G2 (melee group): - both shouts, AP aura, windfury totem - meaning the main tank will NEVER have any aggro issuesG3 (mage group): - completely utilizes shadow priests mana gain, elemental shaman's 3% hit/crit totem and 5% spell crit auraG4 (warlock group): - all 3 healthstones, elemental shaman's 3% hit/crit totem and 5% spell crit aura*1 weakest warlock goes affliction for the utility and improved Curse of Elements, which is a huge damage increase in this raid setupG5 (healer group): - mana spring/mana tide totem. For speedrun purposes, especially during T5/T4, you'll want to have a lot of warlocks as they're actually carrying your damage meters. ![]() If you want 8 healers, swap both and keep them in the same groups. Also this frees up the innervates for that poor solo resto druid (Shadow priest in that set-up with a resto shaman will hit threat cap before mana). - I prefer the resto shaman as the 7th healer and the mana it also provides this group is great.Swapping a ret pally and/or ele shaman (i prefer kicking out an ele shaman) for a holy pally and/or resto shaman isn't bad if you want 7 healers and with lower gear, or easier time, its a good idea. - Same as above but a single survival hunter adds raid buff Expose Weakness.Caster: (Spi) priest, (S) priest, mage, (B) druid, (R or Ele) shaman. - Ideal DPS group in TBC.Range #2: 2x (BM) hunters, (S) hunter, (F) druid, (R) Shaman. Zoom for mac osIf your raid is great at interrupting 1 rogue should be fine (you have enough shamans), but still you can drop a class for a 2nd one to be safe.More tanks typically reduces pressure on healers also (i have always been short on tanks in wow until was it cata or mop).
